Submit

Please ensure that you read these guidelines (or skim read to the bits that are relevant to you); it saves us a lot of time & ensures that your submission will be posted quicker.

Please tag your hair with only the colours that can be seen in the image. If your hair is both purple & lavender then please tag with one only. If your hair is ambiguous in colour (such as teal or magenta) then you may tag both; ‘green hair’ & ‘blue hair’ or ‘red hair’ & ‘pink hair’ being common examples. If you have more than three colours in your hair then please tag with ‘multicoloured hair’ & use no other hair colour tags. Please only use the ‘rainbow hair’ tag if your hair (or a section of which) is dyed in rainbow order & if so then use no other hair colour tags. If it is not then tag as ‘multicoloured hair’. It is very important that if your image is a moving GIF, you tag it with ‘GIF’. This is because people that suffer from epilepsy often use Tumblr Saviour in order to block these images from appearing since they may cause an attack.

If you would like to see the format of submissions then take a look on http://wowbrighthair.tumblr.com/tagged/submission We will always source your image in the Source box, you do not need to ask as we automatically do this. We will not include any links that you post in the caption (making certain exceptions for links to articles, Youtube links etc. depending on relevance), & so please do not link to your blog here as it looks untidy & often gets removed down the line & thus we will remove it & use the Source box instead meaning that you are more likely to get reblogs & that your URL should remain attached to your image down the line. We will automatically post any other text that you write in the caption, which will appear in blockquote (to show that you wrote the text, rather than us). It’s very helpful to our community for you to let us all know what dye(s) it is that you have used, but you do not have to do this! (We’d also adore to see some fan art if you’d have fun doing this, & some signs could also be fun - we would obviously source these back to you & you can tag with the relevant tags to these as well as any bright hair that you have in the photo!)

We want for this to be as safe a space as possible for our followers, which means that if we come across any triggering material on your blog then we will use the tags to add a trigger warning ‘on the submission source’ with the name of the triggering content (common examples include self injury & disordered eating). This may be something that you are unhappy about because of the fact that it might detract from the number of people that decide to visit your blog, but please remember that being triggered is not the same as being offended & that anybody that is triggered by your content is not going to follow you in any case. If you have used trigger warnings yourself/hidden images or talk of things such as self injury or disordered eating behind a read more then we will include an extra trigger warning in our tags.

You may submit as many photos of yourself as you like at one time; they will be staggered in the queue. The queue posts fifty times a day & we tend to post non-submitted images in between to stagger them better - your image should usually be posted within a day or two, but this can depend. If you have photoshopped your hair to be a bright colour then please mention this in the caption. If your hair is not a bright colour or does not look a bright colour in the photo then please submit to wowlovelyhair instead of here as your image will not get posted. If you think that your hair is actually more blonde looking than white, for example, please do this, as well as if your hair is naturally a vibrant shade of natural red & other such things.

You are very welcome to watermark your images.

Please remember that you are putting your image into the public domain & that we cannot control what happens to it once it has been posted. If you find that anybody has reblogged or replied to an image that you posted here & has said anything of an unkind nature to you which is unjustified & think that we haven’t noticed then feel free to let us know & we will have some stern words! This blog is LGBT* positive. Our criteria for this blog is only whether or not you have visibly bright hair in your submissions. If, however, you were to submit with anything that could be offensive in the caption then we would deal with this accordingly, as well as submissions with images that could be seen as which, also.

Well, I think that that covers everything! Contact us via ask if you have any queries! x
